Student Employee Appreciation Month
About the April Sticker:
Many Sacramento State students are fond of the campus’s squirrel population, so much that a group of students created an Instagram account dedicated to the squirrels. The sticker is of a squirrel holding an ‘Acorn’ laptop and wearing a green sweater to represent one of Sacramento State’s spirit colors as well as its connection to students.The phrase “Thank you for your hard work!” recognizes and expresses gratitude to the student workforce at Sacramento State.

To all the amazing students who work in each and every department at Union WELL, Inc…Thank you for the effort and commitment you continuously put forth, day in and day out, to ensure the operations and programs in both the Union and The WELL run at the highest level possible. Our facilities could not be what they are without everything you bring to our organization. One of the reasons I have worked in higher ed as long as I have is due to the creativity energy and enthusiasm that you all bring to this environment—an environment that it is truly my pleasure to be a part of. Day in and day out, this team comes together to deliver the best possible member experience to the WELL. I love seeing how you and your teammates collaborate with each other and try to embody the essence of teamwork while performing your duties and responsibilities. I value your commitment to the team and I deeply appreciate each and every one's contribution and service to the organization.
I also want to thank the awesome personal training staff for all their hard work and dedication. It feels good to have a consistently reliable and professional team to help our members achieve their fitness and wellness goals. Thank you!! You all are some of the most impressive and responsible staff I've worked with. The way our program operates, with you working so far from The WELL itself on what is essentially an island, is extremely difficult and takes a huge amount of trust. But you all never fail to make me feel comfortable keeping our pool open. I get so much positive feedback from our participants about the safe, positive, and fun environment that you all create. From constant chem checks to severe storm warnings, you all continue to bring your best every day to your shifts. Thank you for all of the hard work and long days. I appreciate you!

I LOVE working with students! Students truly are the best part of my job. I enjoy learning about them and their life experiences and teaching them skills that they can use in other jobs and their personal lives. Students give me energy and keep me young at heart. I thrive off of them and enjoy celebrating their accomplishments and successes.
Working at the Union with and for students has granted me the privilege to pay it forward for my children if and when they go off to college. I am delighted when students come back after graduation to visit and tell me all about their new "real world" jobs but also hear them fondly remember their time working for the Union as a positive time in their lives.
A huge THANK YOU to ALL of my student employees who have allowed me to mentor them and for being a highlight in my life.
