National Random Acts of Kindness Month
About the February 2025 Sticker- Celebrating Random Acts of Kindness
This February, celebrate the theme of Random Acts of Kindness with our vibrant Sticker of the Month; a design that radiates warmth, love, and generosity. Created to inspire connection and generosity, this sticker captures the spirit of our Hornet family: unity, care, and thoughtful giving.
The illustration features two gentle hands of different skin tones reaching out to share a small, beautifully wrapped gift nestled inside a heart-shaped frame. This imagery symbolizes the unity, diversity, and inclusivity of the Sac State community, where mutual respect and the joy of selfless giving bring people together. Surrounding the heart are vibrant stars and soft, upward-flowing elements, evoking the positivity, hope, and joy that naturally accompany acts of kindness.
The bold and impactful text, “DO GOOD. BE KIND.”, serves as a clear call to action, perfectly embodying the spirit of the Sac State community. It encourages everyone—students, staff, and faculty alike—to spread kindness in ways both big and small.
This month, let this sticker serve as a reminder to spread kindness in your daily interactions. Step up for a fellow Hornet, leave an encouraging note in the library, or lend a hand to someone in need. As we embrace the theme of Random Acts of Kindness this February, let's unite as a Hornet family to make a positive impact on our campus and beyond. Here are some ways you can participate:
Offer Support: Assist a classmate with study materials or form a study group to help each other prepare for exams.
Share Resources: Utilize and promote campus facilities like The WELL for health and wellness activities, or collaborate with the ASI Food Pantry to support fellow students facing food insecurity.
Participate in Events: Join campus events that foster community and kindness. For instance, consider attending the Speaking Freely with Dr. Cornel West event on February 6, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the University Union Ballroom. Dr. West will deliver a keynote address, offering profound insights on justice, love, and democracy. Additionally, the Venom: The Last Dance movie screening on February 20, 2025, at 7:30 PM in the University Union Ballroom provides an opportunity to connect with peers in a relaxed setting.
Engage with the Community: Explore the 16 Black Classicists exhibition at The University Union Gallery, running from January 21 to February 13, 2025. This exhibit highlights the achievements of Black scholars in classical studies, offering a chance to reflect on history and culture.
Simple Gestures: Sometimes, the smallest acts make the biggest difference. Hold the door open for someone, express gratitude to your professors, or leave encouraging notes around campus.
Remember, kindness is contagious. By incorporating these acts into our daily routines, we can create a ripple effect that enhances the sense of belonging and support within our Sac State community.
